What a certified client may say and display about its certification, what it may not, and how to report misuse. The binding rules are in the Certification Rules §14.
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certify an organisation's management system. They do not certify its products or services, and no reference to certification may suggest that they do.
While its certification is valid, a client may:
Wherever the certification symbol is displayed, it shows the standard certified, the scope of certification or where the full scope can be found, the certificate number, and the certifying body, EdelCert International (Pty) Ltd.
An accreditation mark belongs to the accredited certification body. It is never the client's to display. EdelCert International (Pty) Ltd is an applicant for accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). We do not currently hold accreditation. No certificate we issue carries an accreditation mark, and no client may refer to accreditation in connection with its certification.
We review each client's use of marks and references to certification at every surveillance and recertification audit, including its website, marketing material, tender documents and product packaging. Misuse is raised as a nonconformity. Persistent or material misuse that is not corrected may lead to suspension or withdrawal of certification, and to a public notice that the organisation is no longer certified.
If you see an organisation misusing our name, our certification symbol or a claim of certification, tell us: complaints@edelcert.com, or use our complaints and appeals page.
