Accreditation & credentials

Our accreditation, in the open

A certificate is only worth what its accreditation stands behind. Here is exactly where we stand with IAS: under which standard, for which scope, and what has and has not yet happened.

Current status (2026-10-28): accreditation application with the International Accreditation Service (IAS) in process. Not yet granted. Scope applied for: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for IAF 28 (construction) and IAF 31 (transport, storage and communication).

FAQ

Accreditation questions

What does 'accreditation in process' mean?

It means EdelCert International has applied to IAS, paid the application deposit, and will be assessed against ISO/IEC 17021-1, including witnessed audits, before any decision. Accreditation has not been granted. Certificates issued before that date are unaccredited certificates and we tell every client so in writing.

Why IAS rather than a local accreditation body?

IAS is a signatory of the IAF multilateral recognition arrangement (MLA), so certificates issued under IAS accreditation are recognised by other IAF MLA signatories worldwide. For clients tendering across borders, that recognition matters more than the name on the certificate.

Which sectors are in EdelCert's accreditation scope?

The application covers IAF code 28 (construction) and IAF code 31 (transport, storage and communication) for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. We do not currently offer ISO 45001 or ISO 27001.

Can you send proof of status for a tender?

Yes. We can provide a signed letter confirming our application status via the contact page.

Need documentation of our accreditation status for a tender?

We can send a signed status letter confirming where our application stands.
