EdelCert International certifies management systems. The value of a certificate rests entirely on the certificate being honest, so we treat impartiality as the thing we sell rather than a rule we comply with.
We do not provide management system consultancy, and we do not certify anyone we have consulted for. We do not certify an organisation that has received management system consultancy from us, or from a body connected to us, in the previous two years. We do not offer internal audit services to organisations we certify.
Our people are not paid for outcomes. No part of anyone's remuneration for auditing or for deciding depends on how many favourable decisions are taken.
We identify and manage our own conflicts, and we write them down. We maintain a register of impartiality threats, including threats arising from ownership, from commercial relationships, and from the personal relationships of our directors.
The register is reviewed by our Managing Director and, on its constitution, will also be reviewed by a committee that includes people who do not work for us and do not benefit from our decisions. That committee will be in place before we take our first certification decision.
We publish where the threats are, rather than claiming there are none. A new certification body with a small number of relationships has real conflicts. Ours are documented, assessed, and controlled, and they are open to our accreditation body once accreditation is granted, and they are open to the International Accreditation Service (IAS) during its assessment of our application, and to our accreditation body if and when accreditation is granted.
If you believe we have acted partially, tell us: complaints@edelcert.com, or use our complaints and appeals page.
